Atlantic Corporate Contracting is a North Carolina-based commercial construction company known for its exceptional management, superior craftsmanship, detail oriented field team, and best-in-class standards.
Atlantic Corporate Contracting was founded by Mike Higgins in 2015 after 36 years of working throughout the southeastern United States. With a strong local presence and deep roots in the Triangle, Mike thought it was time that a “true general contractor” was needed to provide services for the Raleigh-Durham market.
By involving ACC early during the design process, our clients gain a collaborative partner at the inception of their project to help meet business objectives and mitigate unforeseen surprises, schedule extensions, and budget challenges. Our clients count on us to help develop project budgets, estimate and develop bid packages, provide constructability reviews, and holistically analyze the project for any value engineering opportunities.
ACC believes that good design and good construction are not mutually exclusive. We pride ourselves in the versatility of our team members; most of our staff have worked in multiple construction roles throughout their careers and on a variety of project types. Our team maintains a strong respect for the design process while working towards the common goal of an exceptional finished product. Throughout the entire construction process, we keep our clients’ best interest in mind and take a proactive approach to project management. Our results speak for themselves and we’ve built worthwhile and ongoing relationships with our clients.
As owner’s representative, ACC can quite literally serve as an extension of your staff. ACC provides guidance through the lifecycle of your project, protecting the client’s interests at all times. ACC provides owners with the value-added resources they need to successfully complete their project. As the project’s “boots on the ground,” we provide on-site representation to make sure construction proceeds on time and within budget.
Burt Shavitz’s turkey coop, a 300 SF structure where he lived and started his namesake company, sits on American Tobacco Campus as a reminder of the brand’s values for the office’s 150 employees. ACC dismantled the coop in July 2016 to move it from Maine to North Carolina. It was in NC, a year after Burt died, where his simple wood-shingled home with no electricity or running water was rebuilt with exact precision and now serves as a reminder of the company’s roots in land, community, and nature.
